Abstract

Mitrastemon yamamotoi (Makino) Makino, a unique root parasite hitherto known to occur from Japan to Thailand and Sumatra with a related species In Mexico, is now found in India, at Mawsmal near Cherrapunji in the Khasi&Jalntia Hills of Meghalaya. The parasite is described, Including photographs, analytical illustrations and some related notes.
