Forest Industries Corporation in Karnataka

Abstract

Karnataka State Forest Industries Corporation Limited was established in 1973. The principal objective of the Corporation is to reduce pressure on the forest by more efficient conversion and utilisation of forest produce with the use of advance scientific knowledge and promoting new forest industries and creating employment potential. The Corporation also aims at eliminating the middleman and making the finished products directy available to the consumers. Main activities of the Corporation are carring out logging and extraction work and running of saw mills, preservation plants and Firewood depots, popularization of fuel efficient stoves, supply of polythene bags and manufacture of blockboards, flush doors and katha.
