Punjab State Forest Development Corporation Limited was established according to the recommendation of the interim report of the National Commission on Agriculture and directives of Government of India to serve the interests of Punjab State. The agency of contractors has been eliminated and the Corpn. is carrying out felling work of trees as per directions of the State Govt. Diversified uses of secondary timber like eucalypts and kikar have been found for furniture making, gift articles, door and windows frames and shutters etc. The farmers were facing difficulty in disposing off small sized eucalypts wood due to glut in the market. To help the farmers, an agreement for the supply of 50,000 tonnes of eucalypts wood of pulpable size has been signed. The farmers are now getting better price of their produce.Downloads
