Abstract

Nail is an economical and simple jointing device for wood members in Timber Structures such as roof trusses columns, beams etc. The lateral strength of 5 mm dia (6 S.W.G.) nails iu double shear in Terminalia alata (Sain) determined through laboratory tests has been reported in this paper to enable the structural engineers to use this data in the design and construction of Timber Structures.
