Forest trees are the largest global solar energy converters and a major source of fuel/ fire wood both for the domestic and wood-based industrial sectors. Besides a survey of the current status, the present communication is aimed at to discuss an approach to the problem in the form of new concepts/utilization patterns: optimising energy fixation in forest trees, high density energy plantations (HDEP), utilization of logging waste, charcoal prodnction and utilization, briquetting forest tree residues, gasification of wood and conservation of forest tree biomass. Major emphasis is laid upon integration of production, conversion, utilization and conservation of fuelwood aspects.Downloads
