Environmental Desiccation and Seedling Survival in Cassia Spp.

Abstract

C. angustifolia, which could tolerate a complete drying for 6 h was found most resistant to desiccation among the five Cassia spp. This shows that this species should be suitable for large scale cultivation in deserts as it is very resistant to drought.
