Logging Cost Analysis and 150-cost Curves with Particular Reference to Madhya Pradash

Abstract

Methods for analysing the logging cost and preparation of 150-Cost Curves have been given in this paper. The analysis, which is based on the cost data of Madhya Pradesh, shows that log production cost varies from Rs. 30/- to Rs. 50/- per M³, haulage by bullock cart is economical upto a distance of 7 km.,log transportation by rail is cheaper than by truck for a load more than 50 km. 150 Cost Curves for truck haulage cum rail transport and truck haulage cum truck transport have also been constructed and method illustrated.
