Last of Dianosaurs-the Crocodilians

Abstract

Evaluation and distribution of crocodilians have been discussed. Details of hatching and breeding have been given. Hatching experiment undertaken at Kukaran near Lucknow ia Uttar Pradesh gave encouraging results. With this success, it is planned to undertake hatching programm in future to replenish the depleting stock in rivers by releasing the hand reared sub-adults. Measures for the survival and multiplication of the Gharial have been indicated.
