Abstract

The present paper focusses on the various ecological aspects of Acorus calamus. This species is very useful/effective and is basically a medicinal herb, which is found in abundance in Temperate Zone of the Himalayas. Excessive exploitation coupled with destruction of its natural habitats has brought this species on the verge of extinction hence long term conservation practices should be adopted to conserve this species.
