Observations made in the plots laid out in Goalpara show that it is possible to establish in 4 or 5 years natural regeneration of sal by rains weeding and fire protection during the dry weather. Thatch as undergrowth is not necessary for sal regeneration, nor any sal soil, even completely covered by evergreen under-growth, seems to be unfit for natural regeneration.Downloads
