Abstract

Commencing with a general survey of the forests and their history this note deals particularly with the 1927 working plan by H. M. Glover, to whom the writer is indebted for his collaboration. The plan, which is the first of a type evolved as the result of experience under the Kulu plan (Trevor 1919), prescribes a system of irregular shelterwood. The Balsan working plan has worked most sucessfully and has served as the model for a number of high hill forest plans.
