Abstract

Chir pine cones collected from different localities of Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh exhibit great variation in morphology (cone weight , length , width and number of scales). Light weight cones of lesser length , width and number of scales were less preferred by beetles as compared to heavy weight cones with bigger size and more number of scales.
