Planning of Forest Roads for Extraction

Abstract

This paper is a follow-up of the author's previous article "Forests of Switzerland and their management" published in the January 1962 issue of the Indian Forester. In the following pages it has been attempted to sum up the importance of forest transport, especially by roads, as related to national economy in general and forest economy in particular. Current Swiss conception and practice of planning road net works are dealt with in detail.
