Gives excerpts from literature and records of wild life found in the region now constituted as Madhya Pradesh, in proto-historic and historic times. Shows that rhinoceros, elephants, lions and the hunting cheetahs which once roamed the forests have disappeared; wild buffaloes and swamp deer are now confined to restricted spots and the black antelope is fast disappearing.Downloads
