Abstract

The chromosomes complement and meiotic process of the sal heartwood borer, Hoplocerambyx spinicornis was studied in male insects. The chromosomal formula established was 2n 0 =18+ Xyp, therefore the meioformula MI 0 = 9AA + Xyp, four chromosomes were meta centric and six were submetacentric, the X chromosome was smaller than rest of the auto somes and Y was minute.
