Chilgoza Pine (Pinus gerardiana) Regeneration in Himachal Pradesh

This paper summarises in brief the attempts for artificially raising chilgoza pine in its natural zone in Kinnaur Forest Division of Himachal Pradesh during the last about 20 years. The present planting technique which consists in planting out polythene-bag-raised seedlings is described. The problems requiring solution are discussed and the future line of research is indicated.Downloads
