Biological Efficacy of <I>Semecarpus anacardium</I> Linn. - a Review

Abstract

The plant Semecarpus anacardium belongs to the natural order of Anacardiacae. Commonly, it is known as Marking-nut tree. It is distributed through out India. The medicinal properties and uses of this plant have been reported by various workers. Many medicinal properties such as antimicrobial, anti-inflamatory, antianthelmenthic, antiamoebic, anticancer, antitumor, antifertility etc., attributed to the different parts of this plant, are incorporated in this review.
