Polytube : a Low Cost Alternative for Root-Trainer

Abstract

Quality seedlings are an important ingredient for raising good plantations and to increase the productivity. Root-Trainer technology for raising seedlings is world wide appreciated, but this requires a heavy capital investment. India being a poor country cannot afford such capital investments. An alternative for root-trainer, the Polytubes are suggested whose performance is found to be more or less same. The capital investment in Polytube nursery is much less than that of a root-trainer nursery.
