Abstract

Apricna cinerea Chevrolat (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) has been recorded to be one of the most important insect pests ofpoplars in Jammu forests causing extensive damage to various plantations maintained by J&K State Forest Department. The present communication records a series of recommendations (which have been formulated after extensive field studies on the biology, lifecycle, control measure, ecology and preferences of the pest to various poplar clones in Jammu forests) to contain the damage caused by this wood boring beetle.
