Desert Afforestation Priorities, Species and Prospects

Abstract

Forestry in arid region faces severe constraints of climate and inhospitable soil conditions which impede plant establishment and growth. Suitable species planted in afforesting the Indian desert and technological advances in forestry under various programmes are described in the paper.
