Ecological Approach to Dry Zone Afforestation

Abstract

Afforestation techniques and choice of species should relate to the Ecological conditions of the planting site. This paper calls for making use of Ecological Index of the locality to determine plantation parameters. It describes a technique of afforestation different from the traditional one adopted in a highly degraded area in Bagalkot Division in Karnataka.
