Abstract

The distribution of biomass of Acacia nilolica at five different ages, in Haryana has been discussed. Prediction models were worked out seperately for each biomass component and the total above ground biomass. Linear model was found to be the best fit. Among the prediction variables tried D2 was found to be the most reliable parameter for prediction of biomass. The total above-ground biomass ranges from 36 t/ha (5 years) to 307 t/ha (17 years). The above-ground biomass increases sharply after the age of 13 years.
