Applicatlon of biofertilizer, either Rhizobium or Rhizobium + Azotobacter combined, has enhanced nodulation and growth of seven forest legumes significantly. Activity of the inoculants was found to increased further, at least in come eases, due to pelleting of inoculated seeds with lime. Biofertilizer application was found to augment dry matter production in different forest legumes of which Leucaena leucocephala registered the maximum response. Need for inoculating different tree legumes, as routine cultural practice, was emphasised.Downloads
