Studies on <I>Eucalyptus</I> Oil

Abstract

The qualitative and quantitative analyses of essential oils of Eucalyptus citriodora Hook and Eucalyptus tereticornis from Clutterbuckganj area were carried out on GC-Hitachi-4C and GC-MS spectrometers. 29 Components of E. citriodora Hook and 33 Components of E. tereticornis were isolated and identified E. citriodora Hook oil contains citronellal (72.8%), citronellol (14.5%), while E. tereticornis oil contains 1, 8-cineole (37.49%), α-pinene (13.14%) and β-pinene (2.03%). Also their IR analyses were carried out to identify the major components.
