Abstract

An entomogenous fungus Beauveria tenella (Delacroix) Siemaszko was isolated from dead larvae and pupae of Eutectona machaeralis Walker collected from teak forests of Melghat, Maharashtra State. Laboratory experiments gave 80% kill of the larvae, when sprayed with spores culture of the fungus in water. This fungus is a promising pathogen for the microbial control of the teak skeletonizer.
