Soil study ot the Upper Sipra river catchment reveals the occurrence or four genetically different soils in association and their characteristics are very much influenced by their physiographic situations. Topography appears to play the dominant role in deciding their characteristics and the most important functional aspect of topography in this regard is perhaps its effect on the drainage, both internal as well as external. This broad-based categorization with some additional information, as and where necessary, may provide informatioa for soil and land use planning of the area.Downloads
