Basic information on the magnitude and type of gene action, heritability, genetic advance and genetic interrelationships among the characters of economic importance is of paramount importance in formulating a meaningful breeding strategy in any species. Teak, the most important timber species, is receiving much attention of the workers and genetic improvement are being taken up at various levels. In this paper an attempt has been made to review the present status of knowledge on different genetic parameters noted above.Downloads
