In the present study, the rate of basal area increments in four Linear Tree Increment plota. In tropical rain forests of Western Ghats-Karnataka (India), has been determined. The findings are based on the analysis of five yearly diameter measurements of individual tree from 1939 to 1975. The basal area of the trees which were illicitly removed or which died, during tbe period of observation, has been taken into consideration while computing the increase over the initial. Basal area increments of 95 species bas been determined. In addition the average basal area per hectare and average volume production per hectare has also been predicted.Downloads
