The utility of permanent sample plots in assessment of stand growth highlighted. This method is also followed in stands of mixed species. Measurement of plots in mixed species and analysis of data collected present serious problems. Therefore, quite often indication of approximate growth is visualised from basic data. Basic sample plot data from forests of dry deciduous, semi-evergreen and Moist mixed deciduous forests are quoted. Further attempt has also been made to obtain an estimate of growth of mixed plantations by application of regressions.Downloads
