Abstract

Erosion Ratioa were worked out for Tripura and Orissa soils under Jhuming and under Permanent Vegetation to assess the susceptibility of soil surface to soil erosion. The higher Erosion Ratio found in the Orissa under Jhuming indicated a higher degree of erosion than soils in Non-jhuming area. The Triprua soils under Jhum were erodible while soils under Nen-jhum were within the safe limit of Non-erodibility.
