A Note on Physical and Mechanical Properties of <I>Exbucklandia populnea</I> (Pipli) from Kalimpong Division, West Bengal

Abstract

Physical and mechanical properties of Exbucklandia populnea (from Kalimpong Division, West Bengal) evaluated in green and kiln dry condition have been reported and compared with corresponding properties of "Standard Teak". Estimated values based on strength specific gravity formulae have also been reported and compared with the observed values in green condition. Safe working stresses and suitability indices of this species have also been calculated and reported.
