Abstract

The Diversity Indices particularly for Trichogramma spp. from Haryana have been calculated for the first time and found low. T. achaeae, T. semblidis, T. breviciliata and T. plasseyensis were found as dominating species and distributed evenly throughout Haryana. Biological control is an important method for controlling the insect pests of agriculture and forestry as it kills the host eggs and develop itself inside the eggs of host. The study has been conducted to survey the diversity of Trichogramma spp. from Haryana state in the year 2014-2016. IVI (Importance Value Index), Shannon-wiener Index, Simpson's Index, Simpson's Reciprocal Index, Evenness Index and ENS (Effective No. of Species) have been calculated from the survey. Ten different species of Trichogramma have been identified up to species level out of total of 87 specimens collected. The IVI of Trichogramma achaeae have been found highest (18.93%). The Shannon wiener Index and Simpson Diversity Index have been calculated as 2.097 and 0.859 respectively. The ENS and Evenness were calculated as 8.148 and 0.9110 respectively. Only Trichogramma chilonis, T. plasseyensis and T. semblidiswere collected and reported from all four Agro-climatic zones. The maximum no. of specimens collected was of T. achaeae and minimum of both T. flandersi and T. poliae.
