Abstract

The Gorumara National park (GNP) in Duars of West Bengal, India has emerged as one of the richest biodiversities in the region and India as well. It was a Wild Life Sanctuary (WLS) since 1949 and a National Park (NP) since 1994, the small GNP having huge bio diversities is subjected to several threats however, due to ensuring effective protection measures through proper patrolling, involvement of local communities, enforcement of law, timely managerial intervention, unique bio diversities are still in healthy condition.
