Abstract

Rauwolfia serpentina (sarpagandha) has been successfully cultivated at Jamnagar and commercial cultivation can be taken up where irrigation facilities are available. Total alkaloidal content of the Plant: Roots 1.85%, Stems 0.64%, Leaves 0.57%. These compare very favourably with the plant. cultivated in other parts of India.
