Observations on Cultivation and Alkaloidal Content of Rauwolfia Serpentina (linn.) Benth. Ex Kurz in Saurashtra

Rauwolfia serpentina (sarpagandha) has been successfully cultivated at Jamnagar and commercial cultivation can be taken up where irrigation facilities are available. Total alkaloidal content of the Plant: Roots 1.85%, Stems 0.64%, Leaves 0.57%. These compare very favourably with the plant. cultivated in other parts of India.Downloads
