The Orchids of Madhya Pradesh

The paper deals with an enumeration of the orchid flora of Madhya Pradesh. Orchids are well-known foreign exchange earners and form the basis of a horticultural industry. A total number of 60 species of orchids belonging to the genera Acanthophippium, Acampe, Aerides, Ascocentrum, Bulbophylium, Cleisostoma, Dendrobium, Epipogum, Eria, Eulophia, Geodorum, Goodyera, Habwenario, Liparis. Luisia, ,Malaxis, Oberonia, Pachystoma, Peristylus, Phalidota, Platanthera, Thunia, Tropidia, Vanda. and Zeuxine, is described in this paper. An annotated list of the most ornamental orchids is given in the appendix with notes on their habitat and culture.Downloads
