Three Decades of Research on Properties and Utilization of <I>Populus Deltoides</I> - a Review

Abstract

Research work on the various aspects of utilization of Populus deltoides have been reported. Literature was reviewed for sawing, wood working, carving, polishing, physical and mechanical properties, suitability for solid wood, seasoning and preservation, veneering and plywood, block board, pencil making, fibre board, cement bonded board, compressed wood, laminated veneer lumber and also structural wood developed from lops and tops for the benefit of wood processing industry as well as scientists engaged on various aspects of research work on poplar.
