Abstract

It is clear from the above discussion that such a large venture should be planned with bottom-top approach with local perception and well in advance for harnessing full benefits and better results, transparency and accountability. Such massive plantation drive helps in enriching the environment by conserving natural resources and provide livelihood security to the poor in the region in the form of greater employment opportunities during lean period and future supply of tree products.
