The paper reports the discovery of Gymnospermous living fossil tree named Wollemia nobilis. It was discovered in 1994 in Wollemi National Park, just 150 km of Sydney, Australia by David Noble. The tree aroused considerable interest among the scientific community the world over and presently is being studied for its potential in Horticulture and Forestry. There are only 40 trees left in the wild. The tree is close to the present genera Arucaria and Agathis and is one of the rarest in the world.Downloads
