Abstract

Leafy soft-wood cuttings and non-leafy shoot cuttings of Bhanjira (Perilla frutescens Linn.) are easy to root. Treatment with IAA, IBA, IPA, and NAA caused promotion of rooting, increased shoot growth and stimulated flowering also. The results indicate that clonal crops can be raised using shoot cuttings and that auxin has the potential of being used for yield improvement in this species.
