Size and weight of both glumed and deglumed seeds of five different bamboo species of Bangladesh were measured and their shape noted. Seed germination and longevity were also studied. It was found that the fresh seeds germinated better then stored ones. The seed longevity period varied among the species from one to two months and could be increased upto 18 months when seeds were stored over silica gel in a desiccator.Downloads
