To study variability, heritability and genetic advance in Bambusa balcooa, culm height, culm girth and number of new shoots were recorded at four different age groups from vegetatively propagated six plus bamboo (clump/ genotypes) selected in different areas of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. Significant variation was obtained in plant height and number of new shoots in all four successive ages. High heritability accompanied with high genetic advance for plant height and number of new shoots provide clear cut index of these characters in selection, improvement and multiplication for higher yield of biomass.Downloads
