Abstract

Estimate of dry matter production and its distribution among various tree components in 4, 6, 8 and 10 years old plantations of Eucalyptus hybrid plantations is presented. Linear regression analysis was carried out. Among the predictor variables (D2H, DBH, D2) tried, DBH alone was found to give reasonably precise values of biomass and can be reliably used for prediction purposes. The total standing biomass of these stands increases with increasing age and diameter from 20.1 t/ha (4 years) to 137.7 t/ha (10 years).
