The article presents an accoqnt of experiment carried out in Poplar Research Nursery of Forest Research Institute, Dehra Dun with the ohjective to assess the effect of nursery conditions on performance of eight clones of Poplar. It was quite prominently observed that survival, height and diameter, of all the Poplar clones under study, suffered severely due to heavy shade and high soil moisture conditions. Clone 3650 experienced maximum setback and the clone CIMA expressed minimum effect. The study also brought out that growth pattern of Poplar clones underges changes with alterations in nursery conditions.Downloads
