The present investigation deals with the rainfall interception by Pinus wallichiana plantation in temperate region of Himachal Pradesh. Of the total rainfall (1327.20 mm), 2.73% (36.27 mm) stemflow; 76.23% (1011.82 mm) throughfall and 21.02% (279.11 mm) interception loss were recorded respectively for the whole study period. The minimum interception loss (10.08%) was observed in the month of August, 1983 which had the maximum (198.00 mm) rainfall. The highest interception (75.00%) was recorded In the month of March, 1984, which had the lowest (4.00 mm) rainfall.
