This paper advocates redefining the reserve forests. Wasteland afforestation cannot be left only to non-government agencies. The British recognised the "Reserved forests" as for their benefit only. The paper describes the land use pattern Karnataka. The restriction imposed on land holdings be relaxed. All efforts should be made to associate panchayats and rural masses in this programme.Downloads
