Abstract

Bamboo flowering is an intriguing phenomenon and the knowledge of the flowering cycle of the economically important bamboo species is the key for developing strategies for its management and conservation. An assessment of flowering events of different bamboo species was carried out in 3 districts of Upper Assam viz. Jorhat, Golaghat and Sibsagar from 2015 to 2020 and a total of 31 such cases were recorded during this period.
