Abstract

Andaman and Nicobar Islands have a vast variety of orchids. There are about 138 orchids distributed in different Islands. Many of the species found here are rare and threatened. Four genera viz., Grossourdya, Macropodanthus, Malleola and Plocobglottis from these islands have so far not been reported from any other parts of India.
