Abstract

The present study was undertaken to assess the effect of different concentrations of gibberellic acid treatment and pH solution on germination and germination value in Pinus wallichiana. The results of the study clearly indicated that the seed germination was hastend to maximum by the application of 300 ppm GA3 for 24 hours or 200 ppm GA3 or 36 hours indicating thereby that as the soaking period increased, GA3 concentration decreased. Germination value also followed the same trend. The maximum germination and germination value was obtained at pH 6.0.
