Abstract

Root samples of one year old seedlings of hardwood species collected from nurseries at New Forest were examined for ve,kular-arbuseular mycorrhizal (VAM) colonization. Highest level of root colonisation was noticed in Michelia champaca. In Albizia lebbek, Grewia robusta and Madhuca longifolia the level of VAM colonization was less than 10% Frequency of infection was highest in Toona ciliata and lowest in Albizia Iebbek.
